Board of Education Leadership Changes
A photo of the board of education during conversation.

Following the city/school elections in November, the annual organizational Board of Education meeting was held on December 15th. This meeting signifies who will uphold leadership roles within the board and nominates important positions like Board Secretary, Treasurer, Legal Counsel, and the District’s Official Publication. In election years, such as this one, the meeting also represents the transition between outgoing members and newly sworn-in Directors. During the meeting, the board honored the outgoing Director James Hill, as he concluded his 8-year tenure on the board.

His dedication, leadership, and commitment to public service were recognized, all values he emphasized throughout his time on the board. During his tenure, he helped guide the district through significant growth and important initiatives, including the successful passage of multiple bond referendums and the completion of several key construction projects, leaving a lasting impact on our schools.

Keith Bormann and Matt Aicher, who were re-elected, were sworn in, and Holly Hunter, recently elected in November, was sworn in as the newest Director. Bormann was nominated to serve as Board President, and Matt Aicher will continue serving as Vice President.
